So you were working hard and finally you have been through those written rounds and technical interviews but still, one major test is waiting ahead, the HR round. The person will just be trying to find out who you are and not what you have prepared. That’s is the beauty of the HR round. You brag a lot, you are gone. You can’t express yourself, you are gone.
If only someone could have told us, what the HR would be like, what is he looking for in a candidate, are they gonna hire in numbers, which is the one question, I should be prepared to answer like “God”.
HireTale: Hello Ashish, you have asked this question to a lot of people: Let’s hear something about you. Today let’s hear from you, who is Ashish Peshave working with ZS Associates.
Ashish: Ashish is a qualified HR professional with rich experience into multiple facets of recruiting. He is presently working as a researcher/sourcing specialist for the dynamic talent acquisition at ZS Associates, where he works on hard-to-fill roles in ZS India’s Business Consulting group as well as in ZS’ USA offices.
Prior to ZS, I worked with Capgemini as ‘source’ for mass technology recruiting.

From 21 offices around the world, ZS experts use analytics and deep expertise to help companies make smarter decisions quickly and cost-effectively. We are particularly known for our strong presence in the pharmaceutical and health care sectors, yet work across a range of industries. ZS’ India Capability and Expertise Centers house more than 60% of ZS people across two locations based in Pune and Gurgaon. Our teams work in conjunction with onshore colleagues to deliver our sales and marketing projects to our clients. The Centers primarily support client projects based in North America, Europe, and East Asia in the areas of Business Analysis, Business Operations, and Business Technology.
HireTale: So your team is just about to interview a candidate, what major skills, you wish this candidate should be possessing?
Ashish: Data analytics, business Consulting, SAS, advanced Excel, statistical modeling, R, problem-solving majorly.
HireTale: What is the approximate number of candidates you are planning to hire this fiscal year?
Ashish: Approx 500.
HireTale: As an HR, as an interviewer, what would be your favorite question? Why?
Ashish: My favorite question in a job interview would be “What motivated you to pursue a career opportunity with ZS?”
As simple it sounds, it actually is difficult to answer for a person who is just taking on everything that is coming his/her way and has landed at the interview in that race. This one question gives us an opportunity to assess if the candidate is really interested in ZS Associates, how much he knows about the company he is aspiring for, what he wants to do and why he has chosen ZS. It’s better to hire one who would enjoy working with us rather than the one just running a blind race.
